In Sept ‘23 my husband and I, and our son who manages a bar at a steak house and butcher shop in Portland (we love to travel for food and wine), travelled to Sicily where the Italian Trotter arranged a private driver (a local gentleman who answered our questions about history, terroir, the culture, the food - so fun!), wonderful accommodations with amazing Sicilian restaurant in the heart of the Etna wine region, as well individualized Etna wine tours. Example - We spent hours with a winemaker, his 80-100 yr old vines, his cellar, then he served us a multi-course lunch of sicilian food! The vineyards we visited are all well known, with a devotion to Etna grapes and history of winemaking in Sicily, and the wines fantastic! We also visited the Amalfi coast joining a larger group of our family. The Italian Trotter flawlessly arranged reliable and always timely transportation for 12, including children - entry tickets and fantastic tour guide to Pompei with some family going on to Naples museum, others back to Positano, a private boat tour of coast for the entire 12+family. And finally, timely transportation to the airport. Kind and safe drivers, very nice cars and vans, always timely. The Italian Trotter staff were great to work with on details, interests, schedules before travel, and were always checking in and available while we travelled. They were great! If we are blessed with another Italian trip in the future, I will certainly rely upon them again. read less4 months ago

They did an amazing job with helping us schedule wine tours in Piedmont and Chianti. Elena was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable about the region and wines produced there. Since that strange summer of 2020, when this all-Italian start-up opened its doors in such a difficult moment, we have begun to discover the Piedmontese territory in an "unconventional" way!! The great professionalism, seriousness and personal knowledge of the two partners Elena and Valerio, both graduates of the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, about the area and its food and wine excellences have always allowed impeccable organizations. Proposals for stages, locations, excursions and excellent timing, always spot on and of a high standard. Each of our experiences has always been tailor-made, satisfying all requests and needs, with careful and efficient customer management. Exhilarating, the tour of the Alta Langa (Barolo, La Morra, Novello etc.) done with e-bikes, organized for 1 group of 16 people. Top the tasting of Barolo and Nebbiolo wines from the famous Cordero di Montezemolo winery and the guided tour of the estate, located among the rolling hills of La Morra among which the famous centuries-old Cedar of Lebanon stands out! Finally... the experience of truffle hunting with the expert "trifulau" and his nice truffle dog was unforgettable and constructive (even our dog was able to participate in the hunt)!!!
